Maple hot chocolate

5 minutes. Makes 1 mug.

Warm milk takes the syrup in fast. A pinch of salt makes the chocolate taste deeper, and whisking at the end gives it a light foam.

You’ll need

  • 250 ml (1 cup) milk, any kind
  • 45 ml (3 tbsp) Cocoa House maple chocolate syrup
  • A small pinch of salt
  • Whipped cream to finish (optional)

Steps

  1. Warm the milk in a small pot over medium-low heat until it steams, about 3 minutes. Do not let it boil.
  2. Whisk in the syrup and salt.
  3. Keep whisking for 30 seconds until the top is foamy.
  4. Pour into a mug and add whipped cream if you like.

No stove? Warm the milk in a mug in the microwave for about 90 seconds, then stir in the syrup.
