  1. Break the seal.

    A paper seal runs over the lid and tears the first time the jar is opened.

  2. Click in the dipper.

    The dipper comes in its own sleeve. Push it into the lid and give it a quarter turn until it clicks.

  3. Dip, lift, drizzle.

    Lift the lid and the dipper comes up with it. The grooved head holds the syrup so you can drizzle it right where you want it.

  4. Back in the fridge door.

    Keep it cold once it's open. The jar is about 10 cm tall, so it fits on a fridge door shelf.

Many grocery-store chocolate syrups start with corn syrup. Ours starts with maple.

Maple syrup
Canadian maple syrup sweetens it and adds a soft, warm note under the chocolate.
Cocoa
Cocoa brings the deep chocolate taste you grew up with.
Vanilla
A little vanilla to round it out.

The wooden lid lifted above the jar, with chocolate syrup dripping from the dipper back into the jar.

It started with a glass of chocolate milk.

One of us used to love chocolate milk, but stopped buying it after cutting out processed sugar. While experimenting with snacks and desserts sweetened with maple syrup, they made a chocolate syrup that tasted great mixed with milk.

It had simple ingredients, it tasted great, and it quickly became a drink they had regularly. Cocoa House grew from that recipe. We kept the ingredient list short and put it in a jar that's easy to use and nice to bring to the table.

Ways to use it.

Also good on ice cream, pancakes, waffles and fruit. Or straight off the dipper.

It's still syrup, so enjoy it like syrup. What's different is a short ingredient list built around maple syrup.

The dipper is designed to go on the top rack of the dishwasher. Care steps for the wooden lid will be printed on the label.
